Design

The coin is named New Lydian Coin after the official coin of the Lydian Empire, in the second half of the 7th century BC. Some numismatic historians claim that Lydian was the first coin officially issued in world history and was the model for virtually all subsequent coinage.

The design is a creation by Renato Saes, a renowned designer, known for impressing with innovative projects, publications and design awards.
